Business Developer/Land Manager

Business Developer/Land Manager

We need your help to get more green energy in Sweden!

We are in an exciting growth phase in several markets in Europe and we now need to strengthen our team in Sweden.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-growth company with a unique business model in a workplace where you can truly make a difference. Better Energy is a leading, integrated solar energy provider with 180+ employees and counting. We are currently looking for a Business Developer to join the Swedish team and our office in Malmö.

We're not hired. We join.

You will be part of our business development team in Malmö. The team is responsible for the business and project development of land based solar parks in Sweden. We work closely with our international colleagues and not least with our technical experts in Denmark.

Our top priority is to identify the most suitable land for large scale solar parks in Sweden and create a long-term relationship with the landowners and local community. We see you having an important role in this mission.

How will you make a difference in Better Energy

You have a responsibility to ensure access to land and partners for the development of ground-based solar parks, and to build strong relationships with authorities, the community and environmental organizations. You should have an eye for business and a strong willingness to contribute to the green transition in the long term.

Focus is on the commercial analysis and construction of relationships with several stakeholders in the process; negotiation with landowners, dialogue with authorities, coordination with project partners and consultants, and internal cooperation within the Better Energy Group to get the maximum power out of our internal know-how.

Our organisation is characterised by easy and quick ways of communication, giving you a basis for influencing how you solve your tasks to the best of your abilities.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Negotiate land lease deals in Sweden (Arrendeavtal)
  • Identify and evaluate new land areas for solar parks via strategic analysis, networking, etc.
  • Contribute to the commercial evaluation
  • Stakeholder management — e.g., handle dialogue with landowners and neighboring properties and municipalities
  • Assisting the permit process
  • Present and promote Better Energy in a larger context
  • Be part of the public debate on solar energy

So, who are we looking for?

You should have a lot of energy and experience working in projects and environments that are constantly changing. You should be self-motivated and take your own initiative to solve any problems. You should have good experience of communicating with many stakeholders in parallel, and this is done in both Swedish and English.

We would like you to:

  • Have the ability to listen!
  • Love customer contact, is social, responsive and communicative
  • Get motivated by challenges and achieving results
  • Have knowledge and experience in land and environmental issues or the energy industry
  • Be self-going and ability to take own initiatives
  • Have strong business acumen and willingness to take responsibility
  • Be able to travel in the service (approximately 5-10 days per month)
  • Be fluent in Swedish
  • Have patience! It takes a long time to develop large-scale solar parks

Additionally, it is crucial that you possess an entrepreneurial mindset and are willing to learn and grow together with Better Energy. We are in constant development and our team must not just be ready to develop with the company, but also enjoy the growth journey we are on.

This is, of course, a wish list from our side. If you do not match every criterion, then please do not be discouraged from applying anyways. Let us know why we would be a great fit and what you uniquely can bring to the table.

And what about the perks?

Well, aside from top notch offices in beautiful spaces across our four locations and health insurance, you will experience a workplace with passionate people, laughter, and social gatherings.

Additionally, you will have a varied job with a lot of responsibility and plenty of room for personal development. You will experience the satisfaction and pride of working for something as important as the green transition, while having fun with your colleagues. Some days may require late working hours but in general you will experience a flexible workday with work life balance including the opportunity to work from home.
