We are looking for an industrial electrician, or similar, with good interpersonal skills, to ensure a high-quality and solid foundation for our technical solutions. You will be joining the Grid, Power & Commissioning department at Better Energy’s Sønderborg office and mainly be responsible for the commissioning of our solar parks. With a pipeline of more than 6GW of solar parks, there will be plenty for you to do! We take an active role in the realisation of our large-scale solar parks and work every day to make an impact that matters.
You will join the Grid, Power and Commissioning team and report to Vice President, Nicolai Faaborg Andresen, whilst your daily coordinator and mentor will be Senior Engineer, Lars Dam Nielsen, head of our Commissioning department. The Grid Team is currently made up of ten dedicated employees who are a part of the larger Technology sector in Better Energy, which also includes Research & Development, Engineering, Design & Construction, and Procurement, Logistics & Product Quality.

As our Commissioning Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring a dependable, solid and high-quality foundation for our technical solutions. You will be hands-on with starting up and testing our systems, making sure everything runs smoothly and with utmost professionalism. Like the rest of the team, you thrive with responsibility, are comfortable with precision work and have a good sense of what is urgent - all qualities that will be essential for your role.
A lot of your daily tasks will revolve around our systems and making sure they are performing according to plan. We have a dynamic work culture with short decision-making processes, so you will have the opportunity to influence and develop your own tasks and responsibilities over time.
Some of you daily tasks will include:
- Tests and start-up of inverter systems, as well as transformer systems
- Starting up and managing data and fibre systems
- Preparing, and installation of monitoring systems (SCADA)
- Testing electrical systems in general
- Commissioning of medium & low voltage systems
Your main office and desk will be at Better Energy’s Sønderborg office, but you should expect to travel within Denmark, Poland and Sweden as a part of the job.

To be successful in this position, you should be able to meet deadlines and take responsibility for the handover to asset management and operations and maintenance, making sure it happens fast and flawlessly, and at the same time, ensuring all documentation, tests and agreements are completed in collaboration with the rest of the team.
The ideal candidate has solid experience with the start-up and testing of electrical systems within both low and high voltage.
A good candidate for the job would also have the following:
- Educational background as industrial electrician or similar, having gained beneficial knowledge about networks and digitalisation.
- Experience with inverters/converters will be an advantage
- Knowledge of and experience from working with data communication
- Previous work with SCADA will be an advantage
