Junior Analyst for Power Solutions

Junior Analyst for Power Solutions

We are looking for a talented and ambitious student to join our Power Solutions team at Better Energy’s Copenhagen office. You will be part of a team that is responsible for the off-take of green power from our solar parks to corporates, utility companies, and energy traders. You will take part in accelerating the green transition by creating power solutions together with our off-takers that facilitate the addition of new renewable energy. We will give you a lot of responsibility and support your professional development from day one. It is a great opportunity to become part of a high-growth company, where we work every day to make an impact that matters.

Your team

You will be part of a dedicated team and report to Analyst, Mikkel Thorup Hansen. The main task of  the department is to secure the optimal off-take of our generated green power through the facilitation of long-lasting partnerships with our various off-takers. Power Solutions is responsible for our Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), hedging of power prices, balancing and grid services and handles anything related to those matters.

Job profile

As our Junior Analyst, your role will be centred around creating and maintaining electricity price databases, analysing various off-take scenarios, conducting energy market analyses, and managing the obligations of our Power Purchase Agreements.

A typical week for you could very well look something like this:

  • Creating and maintaining electricity price curves and capture values for solar assets
  • Analysing and evaluating different off-take scenarios and presenting the possibilities to the rest of the team
  • Creating energy market analyses of our core markets and potential new markets
  • Keeping track of and managing the obligations in our PPAs
  • Preparing presentations for potential PPA off-takers
  • Helping your department with various ad hoc tasks

We want our working relationship to be based in mutual flexibility. Expect 15-20 hours of work per week, with some periods being less or more. It is important to us that you can take care of your studies whilst working at Better Energy, so we have full understanding for exam periods as well.

About you

When joining Better Energy, you must be ready to drive change and make an impact that matters. You share our drive and commitment, and you are enthusiastic about joining a company with a broad professional foundation where we collaborate across departments and professional backgrounds. Like us, you are passionate about your work and you share our vision of engineering a sustainable future. You are ambitious and motivated by working with other talented and dedicated colleagues.

To be successful in this position, you must possess great analytical skills and have the ability to present key findings in a structured manner. You are a great communicator and handle various internal and external stakeholders with professionalism and confidence.

The ideal candidate also has:

  • Either one year left on a relevant bachelor's degree or has just started on a relevant master's degree
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Professional proficiency in English and Danish
  • Some degree of knowledge about the energy industry or an eagerness to learn about it quickly

Our new colleague must also:

  • Be a dedicated person who is self-driven and thrives with responsibility
  • Have a great attention to detail
  • Have an entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to learn
  • Be open-minded and curious about new ways of working and solving issues at hand

If only some of the abovementioned apply to you, but you still think you would be a great fit for us, then please do not hesitate to send us an application. Tell us why you are the right person for this role and show us your drive.

So, what about the perks?

Well, aside from a nice lunch buffet, health insurance and an IT scheme, you will experience a workplace with laughter and social gatherings - we currently have a summer party coming up, which is usually hugely successful and great fun. Additionally, you will have a varied job with a lot of responsibility and plenty of room for personal development. You will experience the satisfaction and pride of working for something as important as the green transition, while having fun with your work.

How we recruit

We know that our people make the difference. Having the right skillset is only part of the picture - we look for a cultural fit, too. This means that we are very thorough when we look for the best match for both you and Better Energy.
