Energy Yield Specialist

We are looking for an Energy Yield Specialist with a strong understanding of solar photovoltaic systems and experience in the modelling of utility-scale PV parks to make an impact that matters.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-growth company with a unique business model in a workplace where you can truly make a difference. We are currently 500+ employees across 31 different nationalities and counting, and we are looking for an Energy Yield Specialist to join our Energy Yield team in Copenhagen.

We’re not hired. We join.

We look for individuals who share our drive and commitment. As a candidate you must be ready to make an impact that matters. You want to be part of a company with a broad professional foundation and collaboration across departments, backgrounds, and responsibilities. Like us, you are passionate about renewable energy and the green transition. We put action behind our words, and we seek a candidate who is ambitious and motivated to work with highly skilled and dedicated colleagues.

How you will make a difference in Better Energy

As our new colleague, you will perform Energy Yield Assessments for our PV solar parks throughout the different phases of the project development and report the results supporting other teams. Your inputs and expertise will produce valuable insights to determine the optimal design at different locations based on business needs. A good knowledge of the operation of solar parks and the environmental factors affecting it, in combination with previous experience modelling utility-scale solar parks is therefore essential.

Moreover, you will be involved in the continuous improvement of our modelling processes and will assist in the creation of best practice guidelines and reporting/analysis automations.

The role offers a high degree of autonomy and responsibility and you will be expected to discuss, propose, challenge and overall contribute to various initiatives within the team. An understanding of statistical models is also desirable with deep knowledge considered a bonus.

We offer an excellent opportunity for professional and personal development together with like-minded, friendly, and talented colleagues who prioritise delivering the best results while remembering to share a good laugh.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Model utility-scale PV parks (from the PV modules to the point of connection)
  • Support the business with energy yield predictions across the full PV value chain from development to construction and beyond.
  • Analyse and test different design parameters to propose feasible system designs.
  • Review and approve energy yields from 3rd party advisors.
  • Assist in improving and further developing current automations for energy yields and associated processes.
  • Document processes and create best practice guides.
  • Research and stay up to date in the newest technologies and modelling techniques.

So, who are we looking for?

The right candidate has the following qualifications:

  • Proficiency with PVSyst or similar PV systems modelling software (e.g. SAM/PlantPredict) to estimate energy yields.
  • Experienced in data analysis.
  • Service-minded, and thrive in an outgoing role.
  • Structured and proactive.
  • You are comfortable curating an overview of daily tasks, where you independently or in co-operation with others prioritise the order of daily/weekly tasks and solutions.

This is, of course, a wish list from our side. If you do not match every criterion, please do not be discouraged from applying. Let us know why we would be a great fit and what you uniquely can bring to the table.
