Better Energy has expanded its board of directors with two strategic appointments: former CEO of the Danish Growth Fund, Christian Motzfeldt, and Michael Pollan from Omnes Capital.
Christian Motzfeldt will take up the role of chairman of the board at Better Energy. Christian brings extensive experience with growth companies and capital markets from his former position as CEO for the sovereign investment fund of the Danish government.
“Better Energy is one of the most promising growth companies in Denmark and has set out to become a leading company in the green transition in Europe. Better Energy has a highly scalable business plan to produce solar power in Northern Europe and has a strong team of management and employees to execute it. Better Energy is now capable of building industrial-scale solar power plants without subsidies that can deliver solar power at competitive market prices. This is a major inflexion point that signals a solid take-off of the entire industry. I am excited and honoured to join a pioneering company of Better Energy’s calibre to support and further their growth journey,” says new Better Energy Chairman Christian Motzfeldt.
Better Energy is an exponentially growing, Danish-based solar energy provider. The company is sharpening its strategic direction towards becoming a leading European renewable energy company and independent power producer. Christian Motzfeldt will support Better Energy’s focused growth agenda and acceleration of the transition to a low-carbon future.
“Better Energy’s growth strategy is all about speeding up the deployment of renewable energy at the lowest cost possible, thereby reducing the share of fossil fuels in power production. Christian has decades of experience assisting new businesses with knowledge, networks and access to capital to help manage and grow their companies. We have put together a strong governing body, and we are excited to collaborate with them and build on our momentum going into the new year,” says Better Energy CEO Rasmus Lildholdt Kjær.
Also joining the board is Michael Pollan, partner at Omnes Capital, a leading European investor in private equity and infrastructure that recently acquired a minority share in Better Energy. Michael Pollan is a highly engaged, seasoned executive with financial acumen and renewable sector experience, helping energy companies achieve transformational growth and obtain capital to prosper financially. Since 2013, he has been a part of Omnes Capital’s renewable energy team.
